Stars Aligned
Stars Aligned, A KALICO Journal Collection
This collection consists of two contrasting pieces, made with only black and white acrylic paint.
The first piece, What Was, is white acrylic paint on a black canvas. It represents a past version of myself, manifesting and struggling with hopelessness. Through the doubts, uncertainty, and failures she faced as an artist, she knew that there is so much more out there for herself. She creates several versions of herself; the artist, the designer, the writer, the photographer. She feels lost and doesn't know which way to turn.
The second piece, What Is, is black acrylic paint on a white canvas. This piece was not initially included in my draft for this piece. As time passed and it was time to bring my idea to life, I decided it needed a second piece that represents my present mindset. After years of wishing to see this version of herself, she now knows how close she is to meeting her. All her dreams and manifestations are coming true and she begins to feel the stars aligned.
The process of creating these pieces was documented on socials, @kalicostudios
